Canvas uses Notifications to communicate any updates or activity that is taking place in your courses. For example, you will receive a notification when a grade has been posted, an assignment due date has changed, or when you have received a new message in your inbox. By default, your Notifications are forwarded to your UAH Gmail account. Each Canvas user can adjust the Notification Preferences in his or her personal Settings to fit his or her needs. Some users will want to be notified of course events on a more regular basis than others.

To view subtitles, click the textbox icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the video.

Update your Notification Preferences

Click Account in the left menu.
Click Settings.
Under Ways to Contact on the far right side of the page, you can add another Email Address or Contact Method.
Link to other services (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) by clicking the service’s button under Other Services.
To change notifications, click Notifications on the left.
Edit Notification Preferences by clicking the Calendar and Bell icons for each Course Activity.
