Choosing the Right Turnitin Integration for You

Turnitin supports two integration methods with Canvas:

  1. Canvas Plagiarism Framework - this integration gives users access to Canvas assignment features like group assignments and peer review. It does not support Turnitin's advanced grading features or PeerMark.
***Recommended for users who prefer Canvas assignment features but would like to generate similarity scores for written submissions.

  2. Turnitin LTI 1.3 - this integration gives users access to Turnitin's grading features (like QuickMarks and rubrics) as well as Turnitin's peer review tool, PeerMark. Some Canvas assignment features like peer review and group assignments are not available with this integration type.
***Recommended for deep users of Turnitin that use Turnitin rubrics, QuickMarks, and PeerMarks.

You must select one of the above integration types when creating your Turnitin assignment so it is best for you to understand the pros and cons of each before you begin. View the video tutorial below for more details about the two integration types.
